Deco Cubist Couple White Man & Woman Cast Sculptures by Karin Swildens Signed

  
This listing is a vintage sculptured piece entitled " Deco Couple " by Karin Swildens, produced by Austin Productions Inc. The two pieces fit together, with the man's hand appearing on the woman's left waist area.

The pieces are heavy stoneware pieces, painted in a flat white. The paint is fragile and very susceptible to chipping.

The piece does have a couple chips - the right shoulder of the man (photos #1 - 3) and the lower left edge of the woman below the man's hand (photo #5). There are also a few tiny flecks of missing paint.

There is a corner break on the lower, right side of the woman which has been repaired. The bottom of the woman is covered in felt, but the man has no fabric covering. Karin was born in Holland, raised in Morocco.

She studied in Morocco and France. After moving to the United States in 1980, she began her works in clay. Her artwork is in many art galleries in the USA and abroad. Please study the photos carefully as I try to picture the items accurately. This item is in the category "Art\Art Sculptures".
