Size is 10.5" tall, 8" wide, and 11 deep. My art reflects the influence of my childhood in Japan and of the rigorous discipline of my apprenticeship in traditional Japanese wood-fired ceramics. Wood firing and working with clay became a way of life, defining an aesthetic that guides my work and life.

Joy studied under Shigeyoshi Morioka to learn how to fire in the ANAGAMA kiln. She makes many sculptures in the figure of people. Her bronze sculptures that can be as large as a few meters were set in Shanghai as well as Broadway. Her statues are always looking pristine and a tiny bit up at the sky.
