This artwork is part of my series (ceramics and paintings): Portrait-this is you. Hand-built from the white stoneware slab placed on a clay mold. The artwork was bisque fired, underglazed and fired in a Raku kiln. Raku is a Japanese style of pottery first made during the 1580s; the practice is characterized by. The removal of a clay object from the kiln at the height of the firing and causing it to cool very rapidly.
Originally created for the tea ceremony, Raku ware is most commonly found in the form of tea bowls. A contemporary modern piece of art, wall décor.
Looks bigger in a room simulating image. Please refer to the measurement provided. There are two a hairline small cracks on the back(last image), which has no effect on the function, however, I treated it with a small amount of epoxy, just in case. Size: 16.5 inches long, 5.5 inches wide, 2.5 inches depth. Easy to hang on the wall with premade hole or you can simply use the opening on the back to place it on two screws/hooks. My ceramics are very well packed and double boxed. I specialize in creating sculptured abstract paintings with a palette knife and molding paste. My inspiration comes from many artists, but Salvador Dali, Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, Pablo Picasso have a special place in my heart. I also enjoy making jewelry and sculptural ceramics. This item is in the category "Art\Art Sculptures". The seller is "artistfaina" and is located in this country: US.
