This is a well-made and visually striking RARE Vintage Mid Century Modern Japanese Brutalist Pottery Sculpture, by noted Japanese - American, Claremont, California modernist Takao Tomono (1935 -). This work depicts an abstract and modern Brutalist design, with both Japanese and American MCM influences. The glaze of this piece is fine and vivid, which reacts beautifully to natural light.

This work is signed: "Takao" on the base and was acquired directly from the estate of the artist. Likely dating to the 1960's - 1970's.
