Raymor Italy Modernist Art Deco Avant-Garde Style Art Pottery Chicken Sculptures

  

A RARE pair of mid-century modern art pottery sculptures by Raymor, made in Italy; Art Deco, A. The larger sculpture measures 11 3/4" in height (top to bottom); 7 1/4" in width (side to side); 2 7/8" in depth (at top of rooster); 3 5/8" in depth at base. The smaller sculpture measures 7 1/4" in height (top to bottom); 7 1/4" in width (side to side); 2 1/4 in depth at greatest sidth of base.

Despite the numerous chips that exist between the two pieces, most of which are at the base and outermost edges, they have a wonderful presentation; the chips are not what you notice. The chips are not glaring because they "blend" with the color of the clay and the glaze. In fact, there are other inherent irregularities. There are two photographs that show the largest chip that exists on the base, one showing the chip at the base and the other showing that chip when sculpture is upright.

The larger sculpture also has "ITALY" incised on the bottom. I have seen only one other one offered for sale on an upscale website. My asking price is reduced due to the imperfections stated.
